Korean eye care comes in two main forms: eye creams, used daily after toner or serum, and hydrogel eye patches, used for 10 to 30 minutes as a treat. Dermatologists quoted by NBC Select say no eye cream suits everyone, so choose by your main concern and how sensitive the area is, and patch-test first.
The skin around the eyes is delicate, which is why Korean brands sell dedicated products for it. At Daebak, a Seoul-based Korean culture and product company, we compare the options below using product-page facts and published dermatology advice. No product here is a medical treatment, and results vary.
What do dermatologists say about eye cream?
Dr. Jodi Ganz, a dermatologist at Piedmont, says in a Piedmont health article that "the skin of the undereye area is very sensitive" and that she recommends eye creams that hydrate without irritating. She suggests topical caffeine for puffiness and vitamin K for dark circles, and cautions that retinol may irritate sensitive undereye skin.
NBC Select's December 2025 eye cream guide quotes several board-certified dermatologists. It stresses that eye creams are not one-size-fits-all, lists ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, ceramides, niacinamide, caffeine and peptides, and says retinol-based eye creams should be used at night and not paired with AHAs or BHAs, which can cause irritation. A lightweight morning eye cream with SPF and a richer one at night is one routine Piedmont describes.

Eye creams we carry
Brands market all of these for moisture and a smoother, firmer-looking eye area. We have not tested these claims.
- IOPE Super Vital Eye Cream 25ml: a rich cream with panthenol, niacinamide, squalane, adenosine and a peptide. The page says to use a pea-sized amount morning and evening.
- haruharu wonder Black Rice Bakuchiol Eye Cream 20ml: a lightweight, milky texture with plant-derived bakuchiol, fermented black rice and niacinamide, positioned as suitable for sensitive eye areas. See our retinol vs bakuchiol guide for how bakuchiol is used.
- I'm from Ginseng Eye Cream 30ml: a rich cream with ginseng extracts, collagen, hyaluronic acid derivatives, shea butter and squalane; the page says to pat it on after toner, and it can also go over the face.

Eye patches we carry
- mixsoon Cica-Hyal Hydrogel Eye Patch (30 pairs): a cooling hydrogel with centella, several forms of hyaluronic acid, niacinamide and adenosine. Use it after toner, leave it on for 20 to 30 minutes, then pat in the leftover essence.
- medicube PDRN Pink Caffeine Collagen Eye Patch (60 pieces): includes PDRN, caffeine, collagen and hyaluronic acid, left on for about 10 minutes. It also contains retinol, and the page advises a patch test and starting two to three times a week if you are sensitive or new to retinol. See our medicube guide for more on the brand.

How to choose
- Dry, tight eye area: a richer cream such as IOPE or I'm from Ginseng.
- Sensitive eyes or a retinol-averse routine: a bakuchiol cream like haruharu wonder, or the mixsoon patch, which lists no retinol.
- Tired-looking eyes after a long day: a cooling hydrogel patch, used as a treat rather than a daily step.
- Already using retinol or acids: avoid doubling up around the eyes; use actives at night and follow the dermatologist guidance above.
How to apply
- Cleanse and apply toner or serum first.
- For cream, use a small amount (a pea-sized amount is the IOPE page's guide) and pat around the eye area rather than rubbing.
- For patches, place them under the eyes with the supplied spatula and leave them for the time on the pack.
- Pat in leftover essence; rinsing is not required per the product pages.
- In the morning, finish with sunscreen.

FAQ
Do I need an eye cream?
Dr. Ganz says she recommends them and that people can start at any age. Whether you need one is a personal choice, and a dermatologist can advise on your own skin.
Can I use eye patches every day?
Product pages describe daily use for some patches, but many people use them a few times a week. Follow each pack's instructions.
Are eye patches safe with retinol?
The medicube page recommends patch testing because it contains retinol. If you are sensitive, start slowly.
What if my eyes sting?
Stop using the product, rinse with water and consult a professional if irritation continues.
