5 Underground Korean R&B Artists to Check Out on SoundCloud

The K-Pop industry is full of amazing artists, but often overlooked are the ones trying to break into the music scene without the help of a large company. These underground artists are very talented, in more than just their vocals. Most of the songs are also written, produced, and arranged by these artists themselves or with the collaboration of other underground artists and producers. The following is a short list of a few of the many talented underground Korean R&B artists that deserve to be supported and encouraged in their art.

Bevy Maco

To start off this list is Bevy Maco. His voice is the epitome of R&B music. It is emotional and smooth and enchanting as it draws you into a state of relaxing euphoria. Part of the house on mars crew alongside jeebanoff and giiana, Bevy Maco has built a loyal following through dreamy collaborations like "Bad Dreams (ft. Summer Soul)" and the slow-burning "10-30-2018 (감기)."

Rheehab

Next up is Rheehab, an R&B and hip-hop artist. He has a warm and comforting voice when he sings, and his rap flow is always controlled and smooth. His EP Flowers in the Bedroom shows just how versatile his songwriting can get.

DA₩N

Third on the list is DA₩N. His voice is very bright and delicate, and you can't help to sway your head to the rhythm his voice carries. He has since grown out of the strictly underground scene and was signed to KOZ Entertainment, but his early SoundCloud uploads still hold that bedroom-pop intimacy that first hooked listeners.

The next artist you should check out is rosy. She has a very soft and delicate voice, but it is also bright, sharp, and airy like a flute. Tracks like "Twilight" and "WAIT FOR U" sit comfortably in that quiet bedroom-R&B pocket that defines so much of the current Korean underground scene.

K.vsh

Last, but certainly not least, is K.vsh. His voice is very clear and sexy, and it is very silky as it flows through your mind. Originally a SoundCloud upload artist before debuting in 2017 with the EP Leaf, K.vsh has gone on to collaborate with GIRIBOY, Jeebanoff, and Oceanfromtheblue while still keeping that early demo energy in his vocals.
