1. Bau House

Bau House is one of the most popular dog cafés in Seoul, located in the lively Hongdae area. Admission is free with the purchase of one drink, and you will be greeted by tons of furry friends ready for cuddles, treats, and tail wags. There are usually around 20 resident dogs, from tiny chihuahuas to fluffy giants, and you can even bring your own pup along.

2. CATDOG Café

Why pick between cats and dogs when you can have both? CATDOG Café is located in downtown Daegu and dedicates one floor to dogs and another to cats, so you can split your time between the two. Admission is 8,000 KRW and includes a drink, with treats available for 3,000 KRW. Modesty aprons are also provided, so your outfit stays paw-print free.

3. Thanks Nature Café

Tucked just below a yogurt shop in Hongdae, Thanks Nature Café is famous for one very fluffy reason: sheep. Admission is free as long as you order something from the menu, which includes coffee, tea, toast, bingsu, and waffles. The cosy, earthy interior makes it a perfect spot to grab a sweet treat and say hi to the resident sheep through their outdoor pen.

4. Meerkat Friends

If you have ever wanted to meet a meerkat, Meerkat Friends in Hongdae is the place to go. Beyond the headline meerkats, you will also find an arctic fox, a genet, and a raccoon roaming the café. Admission is included in the drink prices, and there are strict rules to keep both the animals and visitors safe. Note that children under 15 are not allowed inside.

5. Wanggwan House (왕관하우스)

Bird lovers will adore Wanggwan House, a colourful café filled with parrots, finches, and cockatoos. Admission is 5,000 KRW and includes a drink, and the café doubles as a shop selling bird food and toys for your own feathered friends back home. You can also pick up snacks for the birds for 1,000 KRW and watch them happily nibble away.

6. Blind Alley

Blind Alley is home to a charming mix of raccoons, pigs, and a corgi. Since raccoons are nocturnal, plan your visit for the evening if you want to catch them at their most active. Admission is free if you order from the menu of coffee, tea, smoothies, and snacks. The dining area is kept separate from the animals, so you can sip your drink in peace before going in to play.

7. The Galápagos

The Galápagos in Hongdae takes the animal café concept somewhere wonderfully unexpected, with a resident tortoise, bearded dragons, and sugar gliders. Admission is included in drink prices, and the café is just as well known for its specialty coffee. The famous MSG Latte does not actually contain any MSG; it is made with a fermented coffee base and sugar, with a surprisingly smooth finish.

8. Bunny Café

Bunny Café in Hongdae is an Alice in Wonderland-themed dream, decked out in pink and pastel décor with bunnies hopping all around. Admission is 6,000 KRW for 30 minutes or 9,000 KRW for an hour, and bunny snacks are 2,000 KRW if you would like to feed your new floppy-eared friends. There are long-haired, short-haired, and floppy-eared bunnies to choose from.
