Summer is almost here, and Korea turns into one of the most exciting places to explore once the weather warms up. 1. Cheonggyecheon

Seoul is the perfect place to start your trip, and one spot you will want to visit is Cheonggyecheon, a stream that stretches around 6.8 miles through downtown Seoul. It is a great place to relax in the middle of the bustling city, and it works especially well as a quick break from the summer heat. Stroll along the lower walkway, dip your toes in if you like, and watch the city lights reflect on the water at dusk. Carrying a mini handheld fan, an everyday summer essential for many Koreans, makes the walk even more comfortable.

2. Namsan Seoul Tower

Looking for a warm summer night out? Head to Namsan Seoul Tower. It is famous for its cable car, which carries visitors up to an observation deck where the city sprawls out underneath. The mountain breeze cools things down even on humid evenings, and the lookout points and love-lock fences make it a classic romantic stop. Pack a light book or a small picnic for the benches halfway down the trail.

3. Gyeongbokgung Palace

Visiting the traditional Korean palaces is one of the best ways to appreciate Korean culture, and Gyeongbokgung Palace is the most iconic of them all. You can travel back to the Joseon era by renting a hanbok at one of the nearby shops, which offer all kinds of traditional outfits. Wearing hanbok also gets you free entry to the palace grounds. Snap photos at Geunjeongjeon, watch the royal guard-changing ceremony, and explore the gardens around Gyeonghoeru Pavilion.

4. Haeundae Beach

What better way to spend summer than at the beach? Busan boasts a lovely coastline, and Haeundae is its most famous stretch of sand. Peak summer brings festivals, sandcastle competitions, and a beloved fireworks festival that lights up the bay. Slip on a pair of slides, grab some shaved ice (bingsu) from a nearby cafe, and enjoy the seaside breeze. BT21 sandals or any comfortable slides are perfect for hopping between the sand and the boardwalk.

5. Damyang Bamboo Forest

Another nature-filled adventure you must experience is the Damyang Bamboo Forest, also known as Juknokwon. The thick bamboo canopy keeps the trails surprisingly cool even on hot days, and the rustle of the leaves in the wind is one of the most calming sounds in Korea. Pavilions tucked along the paths offer perfect spots to rest. A clip-on neck fan makes the loop even more comfortable.

6. Caribbean Bay

What is a Korean summer without some water-filled fun? Bring out your inner child at Caribbean Bay, one of Korea's most famous water parks. The park sits next to Everland and features wave pools, towering slides, a lazy river, plus indoor spas and saunas if you want to relax afterwards. Korean summer also means serious sun, so a reliable sunscreen like a heartleaf or rice-based SPF is a must in your beach bag.

7. Han River

Chilling by the Han River, or Hangang as locals call it, is one of those quintessential Seoul activities. Friends and families gather along the riverside parks for picnics, bike rides, and late-night chats. A classic summer meal here is cold noodles, whether soybean noodles (kongguksu), naengmyeon, or chilled spicy bibim noodles. Order delivery straight to your picnic mat (yes, that works at Han River parks), or grab convenience-store ramyeon from one of the riverside stores.

Wherever your Korean summer adventure takes you, pack light, hydrate often, and leave plenty of room in your itinerary to follow the moment. Sunset over Namsan, a bowl of cold noodles by the Han River, or a late-night fireworks show at Haeundae will all stay with you long after the trip ends.
