The Daebak Company is looking for talented, self-motivated, and ambitious interns to join the team. We are a Hallyu eCommerce start-up company with a seasonal subscription box based in Seoul, South Korea. Our mission is to spread an appreciation for Korean culture all over the world. Over the past year, we’ve collaborated with top brands like CJ Cheiljedang, YOUUS, ETUDE, Esther Bunny, iStyle, Wiggle Wiggle, and MEDIHEAL.

We’re looking for interns to join our team at Donggyo-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul.

What positions are available?

PR & Marketing Assistant | onsite or remote, unpaid internship

Responsibilities:

  • Support The Daebak Company's marketing team.
  • Research influencers and blogs for our company to collaborate with.
  • Reach out to potential partners and manage the relationships with them.
  • Strategize marketing campaigns based on video content and online posts to maximize our awareness and generate sales.
  • Keep up to date with changing marketing trends to optimize The Daebak Company’s partnerships and find new opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Education/experience/passion related to marketing, communications, media, or similar.
  • Have experience working with a team or willing to work with colleagues
  • Interest in Korean culture, lifestyle, and knowledge of Korean entertainment
  • Excellent communicator, familiar with Slack, Google sheets, and social media platforms
  • MUST have a visa to stay in Korea (for onsite interns). The company does not provide a visa for this internship.

Community & Client Relations Assistant | remote, unpaid internship

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing The Daebak Company's community platforms — Discord, Twitter, and Facebook Group.
  • Create, plan, and schedule community activities to keep the members engaged and participating in group discussions.
  • Engage with the communities and respond to basic customer inquiries (forward it to staff to resolve if necessary).
  • Report to CSM on a weekly basis.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with a team or willing to work with colleagues.
  • Keen on details and adhere to deadlines.
  • Education/experience/passion related to communication — people person; eager to initiate & engage in discussions.
  • Knowledgeable about Discord, Twitter, and/or Facebook Groups.
  • Creativity with basic graphic design skills for events and engagement posts (Canva is okay!)
  • Willing to learn, follow instructions, and receive feedback.
  • MUST be interested or willing to learn and research about South Korean culture, entertainment, music, etc.

    Social Media & Marketing Assistant | onsite, unpaid internship

    Responsibilities:

    • Support The Daebak Company's marketing and social media team.
    • Research social media trends, ideas, and formats to gather the target audience’s attention.
    • Develop, produce, shoot, and edit contents that will be used for marketing campaigns and social media platforms.
    • Create copy for The Daebak Company’s marketing campaigns and social media that matches the brand.
    • Manage all file storage, categorizing, and archiving for all projects.
    • Keep up to date with changing social media trends to optimize The Daebak Company’s social media, ads, and other creative needs.

    Requirements:

    • Able to commute to the office
    • Education/experience related to marketing, communications, media, or similar.
    • Experience working with a team or willing to work with colleagues
    • Experience in using photo and video editing tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, or Final Cut (Capcut is okay, too!).
    • Familiar with different social media platforms
    • Interest in Korean culture, lifestyle, and knowledge of Korean entertainment
    • MUST have a visa to stay in Korea. The company does not provide a visa for this internship.
    • Preferably available full time (M-F) and can stay at least 3 months.
