Met Gala 2026: Korean Celebrities Took Over  Fashion’s Biggest Night Every year, Met Gala 2026 is regarded as the biggest night in the fashion world,  bringing together the most talked-about names on the red carpet. However, just like in recent years, Korean celebrities once again dominated the event in 2026. K-pop stars and global brand ambassadors proved their influence not only in music and entertainment but also in the fashion industry.

The continued collaboration between luxury fashion houses and Korean celebrities made Asian representation on the Met Gala red carpet even more visible. Fans flooded social media with searches like “Met Gala 2026 Korean celebrities,” “K-pop idols at Met Gala 2026,” and “best dressed Koreans at Met Gala,” while the most iconic looks of the night were shared millions of times.

This year’s theme was “Costume Art”, with the dress code “Fashion is Art.” In this article, we take a closer look at the Korean celebrities who attended Met Gala 2026,  the designs they wore, and how they made their mark on fashion’s biggest night.

Why Korean Celebrities Have Become Essential to the Met Gala

In recent years, the global rise of Korean culture has significantly influenced the fashion industry. Thanks to the worldwide success of BLACKPINK, BTS, and Korean dramas, Korean artists are now at the center of both music charts and haute couture fashion.

Many Korean idols also serve as ambassadors for major luxury fashion houses:

Jennie Kim - Chanel

Jisoo - Dior

Rosé - Saint Laurent

NingNing - Gucci

Karina - Prada

For this reason, Korean stars appearing at fashion-focused events like the Met Gala  is no longer surprising. In fact, many fashion critics believe they consistently deliver  some of the most creative and concept-driven looks of the night.

Lisa Was One of the Most Talked-About Stars of the Night

Lisa was one of the most talked-about names at Met Gala 2026. Her white sculptural gown, featuring three-dimensional details and a dramatic silhouette, made a huge impact in the fashion world.

The look had a futuristic aesthetic and was elevated by additional arm structures holding a delicate white veil, creating a theatrical and  effortless red carpet moment.

Before the event, Lisa told Vogue, “I don’t want to trip tomorrow!” She  also added, “I’m nervous because the extra arms are really heavy around 1.8 kg, I think. Maybe even more. But I have to deal with it.”

All four members of BLACKPINK attended the 2026 event, but Lisa and her group members Jisoo, Jennie, and Rosé walked the red carpet separately.

Jisoo Stuns at Her First Met Gala

For Jisoo, Met Gala 2026 was especially meaningful as it marked her very first appearance at the event. Fans had been eagerly waiting to see her look.

Jisoo arrived in a stunning Dior gown decorated with shimmering pink floral details. In a short interview with Vogue hosts Ashley Graham and  Cara Delevingne, she revealed that the dress was custom-designed by  Jonathan Anderson. She admitted feeling both excited and nervous,  saying it was her first Met Gala experience.

She also shared that the concept was meant to feel romantic and artistic, adding with a smile, “We’re having fun with flowers.”

Alongside her Dior gown, she wore a vintage Cartier necklace. She also revealed that the preparation of the outfit took about “four to five hours,”  something the hosts fully agreed was worth it.

Rosé Stood Out With a Minimal Yet Powerful Look

Rosé chose a more minimal and modern style compared to her group members. However, this simplicity was widely praised on social media.

Fashion users described Rosé’s look as “effortlessly expensive,” highlighting her sleek silhouette and natural makeup, which perfectly  maintained her signature “cool girl” image.Ahead of the Met Gala, Rosé shared that she worked closely with stylist  Law Roach to develop her look based on this year’s theme. Inspired by the “Fashion is Art” concept, she incorporated bird motifs into her outfit.

During her preparation, she studied the history of Yves Saint Laurent and its connection with art, describing it as a meaningful experience.  One of her inspirations was Birds. Rosé also mentioned that the movement and sense of freedom in the artwork displayed on the ceiling of the Louvre Museum in Paris influenced her look.

Jennie Kim Once Again Became the Most Viral Star

Jennie Kim has now become one of the first names that comes to mind when talking about the Met Gala. Known for her strong connection with Chanel, she once again combined classic couture elegance with modern design elements. Jennie appeared in a stunning silver Chanel gown designed by Matthieu Blazy. The dress featured approximately 15,000 embroidered elements  and reportedly took around 540 hours to complete.

She described the outfit as feeling like she was wearing a living piece of art. The mosaic-like texture of the gown received massive attention on  social media, with fashion accounts naming it one of the most impressive Chanel looks of the night.

Jennie completed her look with Chanel High Jewelry pieces made of gold and white diamonds. Her soft blush toned makeup balanced the overall  luxurious aesthetic perfectly.

She also shared that being at the Met Gala alongside her BLACKPINK members made the night even more special.

Karina Goes Viral at Met Gala 2026

Karina attended the Met Gala 2026 in a custom Prada ensemble, perfectly blending  modern design with cultural references.

She wore a white double silk satin dress featuring a tablier neckline, detailed with black beads and silver crystal embroidery. The look was completed with a dramatic black cape.

The design included archival inspirations from Prada’s 2017 Spring collection and sleeve elements influenced by the 2007 Spring collection. The cape silhouette was  also inspired by Miuccia Prada’s iconic designs.

The tablier neckline draws inspiration from traditional Korean hanbok aesthetics dating back to the Three Kingdoms period.

This powerful fusion of heritage and futurism led to widespread “cyber hanbok”  discussions on social media.

Ningning Stood Out With Her Strong Aura

Ningning also made a strong impression at Met Gala 2026, wearing a custom haute couture Gucci gown.

The sculptural design reinterpreted floral movement through a modern fashion lens,  creating a bold and elegant silhouette.

The layered structure of silk organza fabrics created a flowing, dynamic effect with every movement. Fine stone embellishments and detailed textures elevated the look into a dramatic couture statement.

Black crystal accents added contrast, giving the outfit a sharper and more powerful edge.

On social media, the look was described as “fantasy couture” and “modern armor aesthetics,” with many fashion accounts naming Ningning’s appearance one of the most theatrical of the night.

Met Gala 2026 Cemented Korean Influence in Global Fashion

Met Gala 2026 once again highlighted the growing influence of Korean celebrities in global fashion. BLACKPINK members Karina, and Ningning were among the most discussed names of the night across social media platforms.

They didn’t just wear fashion, they shaped internet culture, fandom engagement, and modern style narratives on one of the world’s biggest stages.
