Fruit picking is a popular pastime all over the world. This travel guide introduces beautiful farms in South Korea that you can visit during your Korean travels.

It will also cover the different types of fruit picking locations and the best seasons to go. And if you can’t make it to South Korea any time soon, we'll introduce some yummy snack alternatives so you don’t experience FOMO.

A year-round activity in South Korea, you'll be able to find a farm to pick your own strawberries, oranges, apples, and blueberries. Here are our favorite spots and the best time to visit each.

Apple Picking

From September to mid-November, you can have a great time picking apples at Yesan Apple Wine. Located in Chungcheongnam-do, this beautiful orchard is a great place to pick apples with friends and family and take photos. It even offers a winery tour, and on weekends you can reserve a session to make your own apple pie with apples straight from the orchard. The experience is foreigner-friendly, so add it to your autumn list.

Don’t forget to dress for the weather! Orchards are outdoors, so it can get chilly depending on when you go. A cozy sweatshirt and a water-resistant bag to keep your hands free are perfect for fruit picking.

Strawberry Picking

Next, go strawberry picking at Cloud Berry Global Farm, a gorgeous berry farm close to Busan with bilingual staff. The best time to start is in November, but call ahead, as the season can start or end early. The program includes an introduction to the farm, strawberry picking, cooking (you can make a strawberry tart or cupcake!), and a fun photo session, with options suited for every age.

When you bring your fresh strawberries home, try making your own strawberry yogurt. Toss smashed strawberries and yogurt powder into your milk of choice with a yogurt maker, then top with more fresh strawberries and honey-butter almonds for a sweet, balanced breakfast.

Tangerine Picking

Get a full dose of vitamin C on Jeju Island, picking your own tangerines! At Haepoom Farm you can pick from five different types of tangerines, like hallabong and karahyang. The season starts in October and can run as long as January. Everyone gets gloves and a small basket, and all the tangerines are grown organically without chemicals or artificial coloring, so they taste amazing.

In case you run out of tangerines before you get home, grab a Hallabong tangerine juice to keep your Jeju memories fresh. You can find even more Jeju-inspired gifts, accessories, and foods on the Daebak Jeju Island collection. We can’t wait to see your photos as you go fruit picking in South Korea!
