The Daebak Company is a Seoul-based commerce and marketing startup that connects global fans with the best of Korean culture through subscription boxes, creator collaborations, and data-driven brand consulting.

Our mission is to deliver the best products and services from Korea to the world while promoting Korean culture. Through our platform and programs, we aim to unite the global Hallyu community - a space where users can engage, inspire one another, and feel empowered through shared cultural experiences.

Responsibilities

1.  Content & Storytelling (Blog + Magazine)

Write original, human, genuinely engaging content about The Daebak Company and Korean culture -moving between formats, from quick blog posts to in-depth seasonal magazine features.

  • Interview celebrities, brand CEOs and directors, and the fascinating people championing Korean culture
  • Cover K-pop, K-dramas, beauty, fashion, and lifestyle
  • Contribute to our seasonal digital and print magazines - writing, editing, and interviewing for Daebak Magazine, Daebak Beauty Magazine, and Korean Region Magazines

2. Partnerships & PR (Talent · Media · Bloggers · Community)

Build relationships with the people driving Korean culture and Hallyu, and bring them on board.

  • Pitch our Affiliate Program (Revenue Share) to influencers, artists, and press contacts
  • Set up exclusive discount codes for their audiences as part of each collaboration
  • Cultivate long-term relationships with key figures across the global K-culture space to fuel ongoing, mutual promotion

3. Community (Nurida)

Keep Daebak's global fan community, Nurida, alive and thriving.

  • Community Management - Keep our Nurida communities active and engaged across Discord
  • Event Planning - Organize online and offline events, including monthly global virtual meetups for our worldwide community
  • Collaborations - Partner with other communities and secure sponsorships to grow Nurida's offline presence in Seoul

Ideal Candidate

  • Professional mindset (especially important since much of the work is remote)

  • Passionate about Korean culture, storytelling, and brand communication
  • Fluent in English (spoken & written); Korean is a plus but not required
  • Comfortable reaching out to new people via email or DMs
  • Organized, proactive, and confident in following through on ideas and leads
