You Never Walk Alone is an album that completes the story of youth and growth that BTS could not contain in 'WINGS'. If the 'In the Mood for Love' series and 'WINGS' were narratives about youth and growth, You Never Walk Alone is a warm message of comfort and hope to the sick youth of this era. The title song 'Spring Day', a popular melody that spans generations, shows the more expanded musical world of BTS. The lyrics, which melt down Rap Monster and Suga's personal experiences, contain a warm message that they will not lose hope while waiting to meet a distant friend. In particular, Rap Monster took the lead in producing the title song for the first time, composing the main melody of the song. "Not Today" goes a step further from criticism of the distorted world that BTS has been talking about since their debut, and contains a message to young people living in the same era to act together. This song continues the genealogy of previous songs such as 'Baepsae', 'Dope', and 'Am I Wrong', and shows BTS' unique musical energy based on a more intense sound.
A total of 4 new songs, including 'Outro: Wings', a euphemism of 'Interlude : Wings' from the 2nd regular album 'WINGS', and 'You Never Walk Alone', the last song on the album subtitled 'A Supplementary Story'. In addition to the 14 songs in the existing “WINGS,” the wings that can fly are finally completed, continuing the story of the previous work, “WINGS.” The jacket photo of 'YOU NEVER WALK ALONE', which was released in two versions, 'Left' and 'Right', contains various images of the seven members, respectively, going to and from places such as a secluded beach and an abandoned factory. The attractive styling of the members, putting their arms around each other and joking around, shows BTS's unique chemistry and well expresses the album's theme, 'We can overcome any difficulties and darkness if we are together'. This visual message is even more prominent in music videos. 'Spring Day', which does not miss the warm regeneration and message of hope even in the heartbreakingly sad video, and 'Not Today', which combines contemporary dance to a higher level of performance, these two music videos do not disappoint fans' expectations. The group's identity was further solidified with the perfection and powerful storytelling that BTS has always adhered to.
Meanwhile, following 'WINGS', even in this album, Rap Monster, Suga, and J-Hope actively participate in producing, writing lyrics, and composing under the leadership of Big Hit's division, such as Pdogg, 'hitman' bang, Slow Rabbit, and Supreme Boi. He is showing his maturity as an artist. In addition, James F. Reynolds, a famous mixing engineer who worked with Jessie J and Selena Gomez, took on the mixing task again following 'WINGS', presenting a rich and detailed sound.
