Who Is BTS?
BTS is a seven-member Kpop boy band from South Korea, formed in 2010 and debuted in 2013 under BigHit Entertainment (now HYBE Labels). They've taken the world by storm with their activism, personality, and extensive discography loved by young and old.
What Does BTS Stand For?
BTS stands for Bangtan Sonyeondan (방탄소년단), which translates to "Bulletproof Boy Scouts." The name reflects music that helps youth block out the "bullets" of life, like stereotypes, criticism, and expectations.
When Did BTS Debut?
BTS debuted on June 13, 2013 with their first single and music video, "No More Dream," the title track of their debut album 2 Cool 4 Skool.
Meet the BTS Members
There are seven members: RM, Suga, J-Hope, Jin, Jungkook, V (Taehyung), and Jimin. Fans say "OT7," meaning "one true seven." RM is the leader and main rapper; Suga and J-Hope round out the rap line; Jin, Jimin, V, and Jungkook anchor the vocals, with Jungkook known as the maknae (youngest).
