6 K-Drama Characters We Wish Were Our Real-Life Best Friends

Hyunwoo Cho

One thing we love about K-dramas is the characters. They may be fictional, but we can't help but cry, laugh, smile, or even get angry at them. Sometimes we even wish they were real people. (Who wouldn't want a real-life Yoo Si Jin?) Here's a list of six K-drama characters we wish were our real-life besties.

Kim Bok-joo (Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo)

Whether she's eating eight plates of beef, singing her heart out at karaoke, or breaking out her secret catchphrase (s-wag), Bok-joo (Lee Sung Kyung) always has your back. Known for her fun and loud personality, having Bok-joo as a best friend would mean endless laughter and never a boring moment. Just like in the K-drama, she always gives a helping hand to the friends who need her, and you can always rely on her for support.

Sunny (Goblin)

They may not be related, but Sunny (Yoo In-na) is known to be Eun-tak's (Kim Go-eun) older sister figure. We all know Eun-tak has a part-time job at the famous fried chicken restaurant Sunny owns, which is how the duo grew close. Throughout the drama, we see Sunny's caring and mature side toward Eun-tak as she helps her sort through the problems that come her way. Always present with chicken and soju, Sunny would be that parent-type of best friend we all need, especially when times get tough.

Go Dong-man (Fight for My Way)

Go Dong-man (Park Seo-joon) is a man of ambition and perseverance. Throughout the drama, we see Dong-man face numerous obstacles that hinder his dream of becoming a mixed martial arts fighter. Nevertheless, he serves as an inspiration to his friends to never give up. A best friend like Dong-man would always push you to be your very best. Even in the face of adversity, he would motivate and support you to work hard in achieving what you want.

Yoo Eun-jae (Age of Youth)

She's known for her quiet and shy personality, but when it comes to her friends, Yoo Eun-jae (Park Hye-soo) is ready to risk it all. We have seen in the drama that she goes to great lengths to do things for her friends. Even when Jung Ye-eun (Han Seung-yeon) was in trouble, Eun-jae didn't think twice before risking her life to save her friend. Eun-jae as a best friend would mean having someone who would do anything for you, a rare trait in this world.

Han Sung (Hwarang)

Han Sung (Kim Tae-hyung) is the adorable younger brother we all wish we had. In the drama, Han Sung is playful and child-like with his hyungs. But do not be fooled by his cute charms, Han Sung also has a courageous side. When in the situation to save his friends and brother, he bravely puts a foot forward. Having a best friend like Han Sung would mean an innocent, playful, and uplifting friendship.

Lee Hye-yeong (Love Alarm)

Lastly, if there's anyone as sweet as candy, it surely is Hye-yeong (Jung Ga-ram). Always the backbone to Sun-oh (Song Kang), Hye-yeong is a deeply loyal friend. He is the epitome of lovely and kind, and he would definitely sweep you off your feet. Good luck trying not to fall for his puppy-like charms, you might end up falling for your best friend. What a K-drama twist that would be.
