MONSTA X has been enjoying a lot of national as well as international attention, and we can all agree that the boys are extremely talented in music and dance. We must also note that they all take incredibly good care of their physiques.
Even though that look is the result of hard work at the gym and the practice room, diet is just as important to build a body like that. So why not follow what the members eat and discover the secret to looking like the snacks themselves?
The Starship group seems very bonded, and they often share meals together, laughing and enjoying the food. For this article, we are going to focus on one of their dinner gatherings and see exactly what they ordered.
Stir-Fried Seafood (Yusanseul, 유산슬)
Yusanseul is one of the most famous Korean-Chinese dishes in Korea. As the name suggests, it is built around three deep-fried and thinly sliced ingredients, usually pork, sea cucumber or shrimp, and vegetables such as mushrooms and bamboo shoots.
All of it is finished in a savory oyster sauce that gives the dish its signature silky, glossy flavor. Shownu seems very excited to open the dinner with this first plate, and by the way the bowl empties and the group's pleased reactions, every bite is clearly worth it.
Sichuan-Style Stir-Fried Seafood (Palbochae, 팔보채)
Palbochae brings together eight kinds of seafood with a generous mix of vegetables, all cooked in chili oil for a pleasantly spicy bite. Popular ingredients include shrimp, squid, sea cucumber, and mussels, and the dish is often served as a sharing plate at Korean-Chinese restaurants.
The members get visibly excited when the portion arrives at the table. No wonder, the heaping plate looks both giant and irresistible, with steam rising over a glossy red-tinted sauce.
Scorched Rice Soup with Seafood (Haemul Nurungji Tang, 해물누룽지탕)
The third dish arrives in a hot, bubbling pot, and it is impossible not to drool over how tasty it looks. As the name suggests, the dish combines seafood (haemul), scorched rice (nurungji), and a hot broth (tang).
The seafood is cut into slightly larger chunks, and the crispy rice soaks up all the broth's flavors as it softens. MONSTA X look thrilled the moment the lid comes off, and honestly, who can blame them?
Stir-Fried Beef with Garlic (소 안심 통 마늘)
The stir-fried dishes keep coming, but the boys are always working hard, so highly nutritious meals are needed to stay fit and healthy. This plate features mostly vegetables (stir-frying retains more nutrients than many other cooking methods) with just the right amount of beef.
It is a light and protein-rich choice. The tender meat and crispy veggies make a satisfying combination that can convince even the fullest person to reach for one more bite.
Fried Shrimp with Shiitake (어향표고새우)
The last dish is yet another seafood plate, but this one arrives with a special sauce to mix with noodles on the side. Even though everyone groans about being full, the members keep going simply because the food tastes too good to leave behind. They had to make space in their stomachs for this final indulgence.
One Last Toast
After all the shared plates were on the table, the waiters brought out the members' personal picks. Probably regretting ordering so much, MONSTA X took a deep breath and still welcomed their meals joyfully. To give their bodies time to enjoy the rest of the night, the guys settled in for some friendly talk and games.
