January 27th is a special day, better known to NCTzens as 127 Day. This year, it marked the fourth anniversary since the group's debut and two years since the addition of their latest member, Jungwoo.
NCT 127 is the NCT unit based in Seoul, consisting of Johnny, Mark, Haechan, Taeil, Taeyong, Yuta, Doyoung, Jungwoo, and WinWin. It is a mostly fixed unit, but it has flexed before. For their comeback We Are Superhuman, WinWin could not participate due to schedule conflicts with WayV, and Jungwoo had recently spent time off due to his health. So it was a surprise when Jungwoo was featured in "Dreams Come True," NCT 127's gift for their fans on 127 Day.
A Retro Gift Song for Fans
For the song, NCT 127 shows that they can pull off both intense and relaxed concepts. The Dreams Come True music video is a throwback to the nineties, featuring the members in all black outfits with the classic blur effect that was popular in K-pop music videos back in the day. Even the old lettering at the beginning of the video gives it more of a retro feel.
The message in the song is also heartwarming: "Make your dreams come true. Life is beautiful." It is all about enjoying life. With the members playing around and having a good time, it is a song full of smiles and pure joy.
