K-Drama Eateries That Exist in Real Life 🌟

If you’re a foodie like myself, then you definitely can’t pass up the chance to find your favorite cafe from your favorite show and sample some of the delicacies they have to offer. Unfortunately, this can prove to be a little hard and sometimes downright impossible. However, in some cases, you come across that particular restaurant and the heavens open up. Here are a few K-drama cafes that actually exist!

• Jageun Maeul or Bok Chicken from Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo

While this eatery isn’t exactly the swaglicious chicken place that the K-drama portrayed it to be, it’s quite popular amongst Kukmin University students in Seoul for their affordable eats. Among the many dishes served are soup, fried rice, and tofu kimchi!

How to get there: Take the blue bus (110A or 153) or green bus (7211, 1711, 1213, 1166, or 1020) to Kukmin University Main Gate.

• Plate B or Dobong Walnut Bakery from Strong Woman Do Bong Soon

Now, I know when I watched Strong Woman Do Bong Soon, I seriously craved walnut pies. How could you not? The small cafe was featured in almost all the episodes (especially when the mothers gossiped) and was run by Bong Soon’s father who always seemed a little frazzled in life. In real life, Plate B is the name of the walnut shop, and just like the show, sells delicious pastries and small eats.

How to get there: Sookmyung Women's University (Seoul Subway Line 4), Exit 3

• Dal.komm Coffee

I’m not one to generalize places, but in this case, there needs to be an exception made. The next location on our list of eateries is dal.komm Coffee. This cafe has been featured in a MULTITUDE of dramas but can be spotted most recently in Descendants of the Sun.

This cafe is popular among younger generation music fans and is always sponsoring events and concerts featuring famous idols or even older generation idols such as Fly to the Sky.

How to get there: Jeongja Station (Bundang and the Shinbundang Lines), Exit 2

• Coffee Prince

Fans of this iconic drama are in for a treat because the cafe from Coffee Prince exists in real life! That’s right, the cafe located in Hongdae (Seoul) features delicious pastries and coffee. However, it’s important to note that the owners of the cafe have a very strict no sightseeing policy which means if you’re going there just to fangirl/boy a little, then you won’t be able to.

There are signs posted around the cafe, but don’t let that stop you from dropping in for a treat and reminisce a little about your favorite moments from the K-drama.

How to get there: Hongik University Station (Seoul Subway Line 2), Exit 6

• Mango Six from The Heirs

I can already recall all the arguments that happened in this particular coffee shop. Featured on hit drama The Heirs, Mango Six is sure to leave you wanting more. Aside from mango, which is obviously their specialty, this cafe offers customers plenty of different sweets ranging from smoothies to strawberry-topped pastries.

For those who can’t quite make it out to Korea, Mango Six also has a location in Dallas, Texas!

How to get there: Seolleung Station (Seoul Subway Line 2), Exit 1

• The Flower-Scented Cartoon Café from My Love from the Star

Finally, the place I’m most excited to talk about is the Flower-Scented Cartoon Cafe from the drama My Love from the Star! This might be a biased opinion considering that was one of my favorite dramas that have ever come out, but for those who could sit down for hours, read a manga, and eat some ramen, this place is definitely for you. In the drama, our female lead is seen snacking on a plethora of food and casually ignoring the male lead.

This place is located in Seoul, and of course, sells ramen and other snacks for the hungry. It also features shelves full of manga. The only catch? You’re probably going to have to study up on your Hangul since the manga (Manhwa in Korean) is written in the native language.

How to get there: Sinchon Station (Seoul Subway Line 2), Exit 3 or 4
