Here at The Daebak Company, we’ve compiled a list of our recommendations for 6 law kdramas to watch after finishing Extraordinary Attorney Woo. Check out the list below, as these are sure to fulfill your law kdrama cravings.

Top 6 Law Kdramas to Watch

1.) Law School

Law School follows the storyline of Jong-hoon, a former prosecutor turned professor teaching at Hankuk University Law School, one of the most prestigious law schools in South Korea, and his cases (and lessons) in legality. We also focus on the other two lead characters, his students Kang Sol and Han Joon-hwi as they fight the legal battle to prove their professor’s innocence in a murder trial case occurring at the school.

This show empowers you to look beyond the surface and shows the out-of-the-box thinking needed from attorneys, as it is also showcased in Extraordinary Attorney Woo. The show's editing also presides an ominous vibe with an iconic kdrama OST, similar to another popular Korean drama, SKY Castle. All of these kdramas listed, including Law School, are available for viewing on Netflix!

2.) Doctor Lawyer

If you’re already a medical kdrama fanatic, Doctor Lawyer is the next kdrama on your watchlist! This 2022 kdrama release follows a hyper-intelligent surgeon turned lawyer after experiencing a medical discrepancy during his time as a surgeon.

He mainly focuses on medical law cases and audiences get to see his journey going through the strain of medical negligence and bringing justice to those who were wronged by the medical community due to wealthier, higher-ups controlling the system.

3.) While You Were Sleeping

While You Were Sleeping has to be our absolute favorite law kdrama on this list. This law kdrama follows the lives of field reporter Nam Hong-joo (played by Bae Suzy), prosecutor Jung Jae-chan (played by Lee Jong-suk), and police officer Han Woo-tak (played by Jung Hae-in) as they find a common bond in their supernatural powers to predict terrible life events of people in their dreams.

They each work together in their career specialties to help prevent their predicted tragic outcomes from occurring in the present, and take down the presented villain of the storyline, lawyer Lee Yoo-beom (played by Lee Sang-yeob).

We promise you will fall in love with the heart-wrenching storyline and the actors as you go through the kdrama. Get your tissues ready as this law kdrama can be a real tearjerker.

4.) Suits

the main characters of kdrama "suits" are walking rapidly

If you’ve watched the original American version of Suits, this Korean remake is similar in the storyline, with a man with no experience in legal studies getting a job at one of the biggest law firms in their respective areas after being mistaken for a lawyer.

However, this version gets a little more interesting as the mistaken “lawyer” Go Yeon-Woo (played by Park Hyung-sik) has a strong, photographic memory that helps him out along the way. The lawyer is also similar to Extraordinary Attorney Young Woo’s memory when reviewing cases and pulling specific information from thousands of documents she had only read once.

5.) Suspicious Partner

Suspicious Partner showcases the lives of two individuals, prestigious lawyer Noh Ji-wook (played by Ji Chang-wook) and rookie prosecutor Eun Bong-hee (played by Nam Ji-hyun), who are assigned to a serial killer murder case together and find out more about themselves and their entangled pasts along the way.

It is one of the most popular kdramas released in 2017 and its unconventional kdrama episode time (40 episodes, 30 mins each!) makes for an easier, but more jam-packed viewing experience for those who like to watch shorter episodes at a time. Suspicious Partner is one law kdrama you won’t want to miss.

6.) Hyena

the two main characters of kdrama "hyena" talking

Hyena is one title that came up a lot among fan favorites as well. Viewers follow 2 polar opposite lawyers, Jung Geum-ja (played by Kim Hye-soo) and Yoon Hee-jae (played by Ju Ji-hoon) who consistently go head to head in dealing with legal cases involving the wealthiest 1% of the population in South Korea. We promise that you’ll get hooked on the plot, watching the two use their strengths in the battle between street and book smarts.
