Seoul's Fashion Week: Recreate These Looks

We all know the influence that fashion contains within daily livelihood. Every individual has the power to express themselves in what they wear and make investments into brands and products they believe in.

In recent years, Korean Fashion has developed into a global influence with K-pop stars and Korean entertainment. Social media is filled with many Korean brands and designers receiving recognition. Alongside is Seoul’s Fashion Week event which has many spectators national and international eagerly watching for the newest trends and comebacks.

In Fashion there is a term called “Functional Garments” which are garments that can become a part of an individual’s wardrobe and have multiple functions from just aesthetics and presentation of a brand. These garments can be worn on many occasions and serve protection to its wearer. 

This time, we’ll be discussing and recreating a few looks with garments you may possibly have at home. 

First, a little background on each designer/brands that will be shown. These designers/brands have been surfacing and gaining popularity since Seoul’s Fashion Show. 

 

 

BEYOND CLOSET:

Their collection for 2021 is called “NAVY 2021 F/W Building/Rebuilding” 

NAVY stands for new archives from valuable years helping the brand showcase an 80’s remake that includes a baseball theme among the neutral colors and black, grey, white scale. 

This brand received wide range popularity since actor Lee Jong Suk made a post military service debut at the show. Wearing Look #1 and opening the runway for “Beyond Closet” alongside other talents at none other than the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Korea. 

 

RIN JEON: 

Clothing brand RIN JEON is a luxury designer brand that sells professional attire with many neutral colors in E-commerce. This company is licensed under Hae Rin Jeon based in Seoul, South Korea. The company promotes high end quality fabric in each garment along with an organic touch. Most recent appearance in SFW 21. 

 

BIG PARK: 

This brand was impressive on SFW 21, by bringing burnt orange and green color scales complementing many of the black and white tones showcased by the brand. The South Korean brand left a great impression on the runway with BIG PARK 2021 Fall/Winter collection. This brand is on the rise with a few collaborations on the horizon. Among other designers such as C- ZANN E, MILLSTUDIO, and UNIC+A. Please stay tuned to what else they have to offer this upcoming season. 

 

LOOK #1:

This look was created by Designer brand Beyond Closet 

 

Top:

Brown and off white cow prints on a slim jacket with white graphic cotton T-shirt underneath. 

Bottom:

Light denim bootcut jeans along with cow printed cow boots. The entire look is tied off with a babushka scarf that resembles black and white patterns. 

Hair & Make-Up:

Lee Jong Suk rocked a very natural pale look that highlighted his smooth skin and full lips. With silky black long hair. 

 

LOOK #2: 

This look was created by designer RIN JEON 

Top: 

Off-white cotton shirt tucked underneath accentuating the body’s silhouette.

Bottom: 

A cream color linen skirt, that is ankle lengths perfect for the warmer days. This look promotes the minimalism trend that can serve as brunch outfit or a professional event if thrown a black leather jacket on top. 

Hair & Make-Up:

The model wore a natural look as well to complement the garment piece, accentuating fuller brows and pink fuller lips. Along with a simple up-do for hair. 

LOOK #3: 

This look was created by designer brand BIG PARK. 

 

Top: 

This look consists of a white long sleeve button-up with bright yellow graphics that is tucked underneath once again shaping the silhouette of the body. 

Bottom: 

An olive knee length skirt that showcases a pleated look to the skirt. This skirt also brings a straight belt to tie down the waistline. This look is so beautiful and flowy, perfect for the upcoming season. 

Hair & Make-Up:

The model wore an adventurous look that stood out, white a clear flawless base and shizzle cheekbones. A rosy pink shade on her lips along with dark black hair and blue and blonde dyed bangs. This look was topped off with a fish net over the face.
