The lead single conveys the message of not holding back, being a champion of your identity, not hesitating to anything, and just putting your ‘sneakers’ on - as they should.

The group moved away from their energetic character sound to break free of the shackles of these expectations, inner and outer. The perfection - that is expected from them - is like a box sealing in their potential, and ‘Sneakers’ sees ITZY take a glittering hammer and smash it to smithereens.

About the 5th Mini-Album Checkmate Tracklist

The Checkmate mini album features 6 new tracks and an English version of the lead single. A full 25 minutes of ITZY songs immersing into the dance-electro genre sizzling with vibrant vocals from the quartet. The album is currently out in kpop stores and here on Daebak!

“Itzy is nothing without confidence. We want to give energy to MIDZYs with our confident and energetic message, and we want to have a refreshing summer with MIDZY. We hope this song will do that,” the group shared during Twitter Blueroom.

What’s Next for ITZY?

Following the release of their latest album, ITZY will kick off their concert tour, holding its first two-day concert in Seoul this 6-7 of August and driving it to North America, which would be expected around October to mid-November late this year.

They are also scheduled to appear in KCON 2022 this 19-21 August, where they will perform alongside other Gen 4 kpop groups.
