Jeon (Korean Pancakes)

People make the dish jeon by cutting ingredients into slices and coating with wheat flour and an egg wash. Then the dish is fried with oil. Jeon is the perfect dish for all ages. It is usually eaten itself, but some people prefer to eat it with soy sauce. People serve jeon during feasts, holidays, and other important occasions.

Bibimbap (Mixed Rice)

Bibimbap is considered one of the most popular dishes that represent Korean cuisine alongside kimchi and bulgogi. Bibimbap is a healthy Korean rice dish made up of fresh and seasonal vegetables, fried eggs, minced beef, and other ingredients. One unique thing about Bibimbap is that it is often served in a sizzling hot stone bowl, also called dolsotbibimbap.

Japchae

The best traditional Korean dish is a mixture of various ingredients, including glass noodles, fried vegetables such as carrots, spinach, mushrooms, meats, and other ingredients. A fun fact about Japchae is that it was first served at a royal banquet in the Joseon dynasty in the 17th century. The traditional dish is usually served on various occasions, including birthdays, wedding reception, etc.

Tteok (Rice Cake)

The Korean dish Tteok is a historical dish. A range of sticky cakes is made of steaming powered rice with other grains or pounding boiled rice into different shapes and textures. The main ingredient of Tteok is rice, but it is also made with fruits, nuts, and herbs. Depending on the occasion, Tteok has various meanings. For example, celebrating a baby’s first birthday, the dish baekseolgi is served to symbolize a long life.
