BTS 'Light it up like Dynamite' at the 63rd Grammy Awards
That’s right ARMY, we made it to the Grammys for the third time! And despite the controversy surrounding the event at the moment, let's focus on how BTS absolutely dominated their time on the show. I mean, did you see them on the main stage of the Grammys held in the US? HOW???
This year, BTS received their first nominated for the ‘best pop duo/group performance’ with their hit song ‘Dynamite’ at the 63rd Grammy Awards. And although that title went to Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande’s track ‘Rain on me’, their achievements in receiving the nomination and participating in the event did not go unnoticed. BTS performed live alongside acts such as Taylor Swift, Lil Baby, Harry Styles, Megan Thee Stallion and were the first K-pop act in history to receive a Grammy nomination. Now, with all that said, let’s take a look at BTS’s time at the 2021 Grammys.
Firstly, we have to talk about the outfits the guys wore on the red carpet.
I mean...
Someone tell me how they can put Jimin (second to the right), who looks like he belongs in Forbes top 10 CEO list, next to Namjoon (third to the right), who looks like he just had to most expensive jog of his life, and still make it look chic.
As usual, their softly matching outfits were a combination of class and casual, with members V, Jin, Jungkook and Jimin rocking a variety of tailored suits, SUGA and J-Hope ditching their jackets for trendy vests, and RM in what can only be described as the most stylish sweats I have ever seen. All I know is the contrast in the colours and outfits of the members was definitely something no one could complain about.
Now, on to their performance. If you were just as confused as me when you saw them on the set of the Grammys’ main stage and thought “omg did they fly to America??” then I’m sorry, but you were fooled too.
Turns out that BTS recreated an exact replica of the main stage for their own performance back in Seoul.
The commitment and professionalism… I can’t…!
Dressed in suits of orange, white, yellow and blue, the 7 members flawlessly sung and danced their way through the number, hitting every step and high note on the track. Jungkook’s intro and blonde hair, V’s signature smirk, RM’s perfectly articulated words, SUGA lisp in a yellow suit, J-hope’s killer stage presence, Jin’s powerful belting, and Jimin’s flirtatious glances at the camera. ITS ALL THERE!

And that’s not all. Now what more could they have possibly done? Well, if you are into night lights and metropolitan views then you are going to love this. To end their performance the members made their way onto the building’s rooftop where the last dance break of the song was perfectly executed along the skyline of the city of Seoul.
When I say they went all out, I mean ALL OUT.

Although no award was won, Army set out to make sure the members knew just how talented and deserving they were with countless tweets and comments to show support from all around the world. The group then organized a V Live thanking and reassuring the fans that they are grateful and will work even harder for next year’s awards. With the leader, RM, explaining
"The reason we weren't able to win is, I think many of you probably expect this, but we took it as them telling us to come and get the award in person,".
