5 Korean Restaurants to Visit in California đ
Imagine you're visiting California and in the mood for a plate of Korean food, but you canât figure out which place you want to try. Whether youâre in Anaheim or San Francisco, weâve got you covered!
Here are five amazing Korean restaurants to try in California:
- Pan Holic, Koreatown, Los Angeles
First on our list is one of my personal favorites. Pan Holic is a restaurant located in the heart of Koreatown, inside the Galleria Market. Pan Holic creates affordable and delicious meals thatâll leave you stuffed without a tremendous bill. (I recommend trying out the jjajangmyeon.) Itâs an amazing restaurant most people donât know about, but itâs by far one of the tastiest destinations in Koreatown. Give it a try! Youâll definitely become a Pan-holic!
Pan Holic is located at 3250 W Olympic Blvd Ste 316, Los Angeles, CA 90006.Â

- Grandma Kimâs Family Diner, Canoga Park
Home of the best bibimbap Iâve ever tried in San Fernando Valley, Grandma Kimâs is a family-friendly restaurant that focuses on hot pots and bringing the taste of Korea in each dish they create. Not only are they affordable, but theyâre extremely delicious! You can dine in or order food to go, and each bite fills your mouth with a savory flavor.
Grandma Kimâs is located at 8384 N Topanga Canyon Blvd, Canoga Park, CA 91304.
(Price range: $-$$$)
- Sanjang Heaven Scent Restaurant, Anaheim
Located in Anaheim, youâll be sure to love this authentic Korean restaurant on your way to any theme park in this city! Enjoy a plate of tongdak with a bottle of soju, and you'll leave with a smile and a satisfied stomach. Try the kimchi fried rice or any of the dishes at this restaurant--itâs all heaven!
Sanjang Heaven Scent is located at 2524 West Lincoln Ave., Anaheim, CA 92081.
(Price range $-$$)
- Hae Jang Chon, Koreatown, Los Angeles
Home to amazingly authentic Korean barbecue, Hae Jang Chon is located inside Koreatown along with Pan Holic. Have your banchan and a taste of K-BBQ without having to travel very far. Although itâs a bit more expensive, it is all you can eat. The menu has a wide variety of meats to try as well, such as bulgogi and kalbi. You wonât regret trying as much as you can! (The kimchi pancake is absolutely delicious).
Hae Jang Chon is located at 3821 W 6th St., Los Angeles, CA 90020.
(Price range: $$-$$$)
- Han Il Kwan, San Francisco
Up north, Korean restaurants are a bit more limited. Han Il Kwan in San Francisco serves some of the best banchan in Northern California. Prices vary, depending on the dish, but this is the most expensive on the list. Even so, youâll leave with a happy heart and a fulfilled appetite. Dishes are presented beautifully and have great portions as well. If youâre ever in San Francisco, donât shy away from a Korean food paradise!
Han Il Kwan is located at 1802 Balboa St., San Francisco, CA 94121.
