Seoul Fashion Week 2021 HIGHLIGHTS: Everything you need to know

As many of you may be aware, it was Seoul Fashion Week a couple of days ago, and despite the event being held online this year, the designers and coordinators took the saying ‘the show must go on’ to another level!

Take it from me, or the thousands of other runway show viewers, that Seoul Fashion Week 2021 did not disappoint.

If you didn’t get a chance to watch the full event, or any of it at all, don’t worry, we have you covered with the following 'must know' highlights and standouts! LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION!

Firstly, answering the question on all of your minds, we need to talk about which idols were involved in this years show.

South Korean actor Lee Jong-suk I SEE YOU! And I am loving it!

We were all more than surprised when the K-drama star graced the runway for the brand Beyond Closet, dressed in what I can only describe as ‘Woody from Toy Story’s hotter brother??’ Maybe not, but you get what I mean.

Cowboy inspired? Not him, it takes a cowMAN to pull off that type of outfit. Okay I'll stop.

Joining him in attending the event were K-pop stars PENTAGON, MOMOLAND, A.C.E and Brave Girls all representing the fall and winter collection of ul:kin. Don’t believe me? Well, here’s the proof:

Opening the event was the alternative pop band LEENALCHI giving a perfectly unique and artsy aesthetic to kickstart the week.

Now onto the show itself. If you think that the ambiance and atmosphere was ruined by the digitalisation of the event, then think again. Designers were banned from holding their runways in specified large open spaces, leading them to showcase their creations in more interesting locations such as the National Museum of Korea, their private studios, theaters, etc. with some backgrounds so confusing you can't even tell where they are?! Without sounding too dramatic, THESE VENUES WERE SPECTACULAR! 

In addition to this, the way the designers exhibited their fashion visions with their mini showcase videos was beyond me, I mean words can’t explain this stuff, just check out the following clips and you will understand. I’m obsessed!!

Finally, this wouldn’t be a Fashion Week highlight post without mentioning the reason we are all here, the FASHION. Where to begin…

A total of 43 Korean fashion brands showcased their creations throughout Seoul with runway shows broadcasting everyday of the week. Top brands such as Hanacha Studio, Beyond Closet, MMAM, LIE, gave breathtaking performances, and emerging names such as Manod, Notknowing, Kimzisu and Rinjeon fought to make lasting impressions over the 5-day event.
