Busan Travel Guide
If you’re looking for a city in South Korea to travel outside of Seoul, Busan should definitely be a strong contender. Busan is South Korea’s largest port city and is known for its beautiful beaches and fresh seafood. As one of South Korea’s larger cities, Busan still has the hustle and bustle of Seoul with plenty of street food and shopping, but still has the serenity of a seaside town. For those interested in visiting the city of Busan, here are a few must-see places!
- Busan Tower
Similar to Seoul’s N Seoul Tower, the Busan Tower overlooks the city and is a tourist hot spot. The Busan Tower stands 120 meters tall and is located in Yongdsuan Park. From the top of the tower, visitors are able to see a stunning 360-degree view of Busan and is only a short walk from the closest metro station. Similar to the N Seoul Tower, the Busan Tower has a cafe and a resting area.
Beside the tower is a fence full of love locks and beautiful greenery.
- Apeach Cafe
For avid fans of Kakao Friends, Busan’s Apeach Cafe is 100% a must-go! The Apeach Cafe is located within a Kakao Friends store; so after a tiring shopping spree, visitors can head up to the cafe to recharge with some Apeach refreshments. The Apeach Cafe sells a plethora of Kakao Friends-related foods and drinks, ranging from cupcakes to teas; and most importantly, all the pink Apeach foods and drinks. This cafe has a completely pink interior with various Kakao Friends characters located around the cafe—the perfect addition to your Instagram! In general, Kakao Friends stores are always littered with photo opportunities.
- Haeundae Beach
Haeundae Beach is known as one of Korea’s most famous and beautiful beaches; and visitors often go for swimming, water sports or cultural events that are held there throughout the year. Ever during the winter season, this place is still a hotspot. As Busan is located further south, the temperatures during winter are slightly warmer than the northern regions, but even so, swimming at Haeundae Beach during a Korean winter may not be the best course of action unless you want to catch a cold during your trip. Surrounding Haeundae Beach, there are markets, restaurants, and shops for those who want to enjoy the ocean breeze without getting wet and sandy.
- Busan Gamcheon Culture Village
This little village is one of the most unique and breathtaking views Busan has to offer. The village alleys are decorated with vibrant murals by the residents, which makes this a truly magical view. Along with an amazing view, this village is also filled with amazing photo spots! Visitors are welcomed all year round, but make sure to keep the noise levels low because this is a residential area.
