One specific part of the fun-filled, colorful music video that many were wondering about was the scene of the custom microphone in space. Was it real?! Was it fake?! Carats were not kept waiting for the answer, as there was a special surprise of an answer provided by the company that made it all happen.

Music Video Production

The production company that worked with HYBE on the “God of Music” music video, Korean production company SL8, collaborated with the company SentIntoSpace, the leading provider of launches into “near space”, in order to launch their microphone and film it for the music video.

The studded, disco-ball-looking microphone, the only item that was not CGI in the space scene, was launched 113,000 feet in the air touching the edge of “near space”! This makes Seventeen the first ever K-pop group to launch anything into space!
