Daebak InternsShare
The TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) is the official Korean language test for non-native speakers. Managed by the National Institute for International Education (NIIED), it evaluates reading, listening, and writing skills. A high TOPIK score helps with university admissions, jobs in Korea, scholarships, and visa applications.
Types of TOPIK Exams
There are two separate exams depending on your level:
TOPIK I (Beginner)
- Levels: 1 & 2
- Sections: Reading + Listening
- Duration: 100 minutes
- Score: 0–200
TOPIK II (Intermediate–Advanced)
- Levels: 3 to 6
- Sections: Reading + Listening + Writing
- Duration: 180 minutes
- Score: 0–300
You cannot take both in one sitting — you must register for either TOPIK I or TOPIK II.
Online TOPIK Exam
Since 2023, TOPIK IBT (Internet-Based Test) has been introduced in some regions. It follows the same structure but is taken on a computer at authorized centers. Currently, it’s available in limited locations, but it’s expected to expand.
