Canadian Korea at Oh Poutine!

Canadian Korea at Oh Poutine! - The Daebak Company

When you hear the word "poutine," you probably think of Canada, as the dish originates from there. But for those who were unaware, poutine was created in the province of Quebéc, which is known for their French culture, and of course poutine! Poutine is made of french fries, cheese curds, and gravy on top, making it delicious and savoury!

The best place to get poutine is Canada, however, Oh Poutine in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, is a close second!

Oh Poutine pays homage to this Canadian specialty by adding a tiny Canadian flag on top of it! It opened in the fall of 2016 and is located in Itaewon, Yongson-gu, Seoul. Traditional poutine is a favourite amongst those who visit, apparent by the amount of tagged posts on Instagram!

They also use cheese curds made from Canada, to give you the best experience!

And it is Canadian approved! Canadians from all over come to Oh Poutine to see if it lives up to their expectations; it does!

(Thank you very much for the good poutine!)

Oh Poutine is also popular because they put their own spin to poutine! Like adding salsa and sour cream!

And even spicy mayo!

It’s not unusual to see Asian restaurants in Western countries: Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. And it seems that western cuisine is getting popular in Asia, too! Thanks internet!

It’s exciting to see the popularity of a simple dish outside of its home country! Thanks to travel being more accessible and the power of diffusion, people are able to try dishes from other cultures, without having to go far! Also, who wouldn’t love cheese and gravy on top of fries?
