Into Itaewon

Into Itaewon - The Daebak Company

Itaewon is one of the most bustling spots in Seoul. It’s a multicultural area full of people of different backgrounds, beliefs, and cultures; which means different foods. There’s a diverse array of different cuisines that are available in Itaewon, so let’s take a look at a couple of restaurants!

  • PLANT

Plant is small in size, but big in presence! As one of the few vegan restaurants in Seoul, it has truly perfected its menu to please vegans and non-vegans alike. Some of its most popular dishes include the Hummus and Roasted Squash Salad, the Tempeh Rainbow Wrap, and the Lentil Veggie Bowl. Besides main dishes, Plant also boasts an incredible bakery with some of the best vegan cakes, cookies, brownies, and pastries in town.

  • Zelen

Zelen truly brings a different flavour to Itaewon with its distinctive Bulgarian food. The restaurant prides itself in its authenticity, as all of the chefs, ingredients, and recipes are from Bulgaria, and they even airlift local ingredients to Seoul! The restaurant offers a selection of meat, but also has vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. It’s difficult to find Bulgarian restaurants in Korea, so be sure to drop by Zelen when you get the chance.

  • Linus’ Bama Style BBQ

A favourite among millennials, Linus BBQ has some great American Southern-style barbeque options on its menu. Besides its famous chicken platters, Linus BBQ also serves great sandwiches and side dishes, such as fries, deep fried rib, and mac n’ cheese. Due to all of the buzz and love surrounding this restaurant, you may need to wait to get a table, so make sure to book in advance (or get there early)!

  • Vatos Tacos

Vatos is a crowd favourite in Seoul and is a great place to eat and have fun with your friends. Vatos Tacos sells Korean and Mexican fusion food at a good price, and also offers some great drinks (such as the non-alcoholic/alcoholic margarita!) as well. Though all of the items are the menu are great, Vatos is famous for its Kimchi Carnitas Fries, so be sure to try some if you’re there!

These are just 4 recommendations out of the many restaurants that Itaewon has to offer, so we encourage you to go out and explore! Have fun sampling the different cuisines that Seoul has to offer!
