10 of the Best Kpop Idol Covers Featured on Lee Mujin Service

10 of the Best Kpop Idol Covers Featured on Lee Mujin Service - The Daebak Company

One of our favorite parts about kpop is hearing the sweet and heavenly vocals of our favorite kpop artists and groups. For us, the best way to do that is to listen to our favorite artists featured on the popular Korean music show, "Lee Mujin Service!"

What is Lee Mujin Service?

Korean ballad and OST singer, Lee Mujin poses with peace signs

"Lee Mujin Service" is an online show hosted by Korean ballad singer, Lee Mujin. He is known best for his Korean OSTs featured on popular Kdramas such as Hospital Playlist and A Business Proposal. In "Lee Mujin Service", Hallyu idols known for their talented vocals are invited onto the show to perform some of their own songs and covers live. After each performance, Lee Mujin and the Hallyu star have a short chat about each song and the artist’s singing techniques.

While we love every song and Kpop idol featured on the show so far, we’ve picked out some of our staff favorites to highlight in this list. So sit back and enjoy a fantastic lineup of stellar Korean vocalists and fabulous music on your "Lee Mujin Service" binging marathon.

Top 10 Kpop Idol Covers Featured on Lee Mujin Service

10.) MONSTA X’s Kihyun - All of Me

Starting out our list, we have MONSTA X’s Kihyun, performing a jazz piece, “All of me”, originally performed by Michael Buble. We feel as though Kihyun captured the essence of that Michael Bublé’s flair while still keeping his own captivating style on the cover.

We were not expecting him to perform this kind of song as it is a very different style than what MONSTA X usually performs, but it’s definitely a fun surprise for Monbebes!

9.) ITZY’s Lia - Falling Slowly

We are really glad that Lia performed this ballad piece with Lee Mujin, as we often know ITZY with their powerful pop performances. Her cover of “Falling Slowly” (originally performed by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová) gave her a chance to fully showcase her amazing vocals and solidify what a stellar main vocalist she truly is.

Kpop fun fact: "Lee Mujin Service" would not have been possible without Lia’s amazing vocals, as the show’s concept derived from Lee Mujin watching Lia’s cover of “Price Tag” (originally performed by Jessie J) on Weekly Idol!

8.) IVE’s Liz - Bye Bye My Blue

While IVE's Liz is the youngest rookie on this list, her vocals certainly are on par with the rest of the Hallyu stars featured on the show. Her sweet vocals performing “Bye bye my blue” (originally performed by Baek Yerin) has a soothing and soft appeal to your ears. Hopefully, she will get a chance to show off these beautiful vocals in a Kdrama OST!

7.) Tomorrow X Together’s Taehyun - LA Girls

Tomorrow X Together’s Taehyun covering Charlie Puth’s “LA Girls” is like a dream come true. Taehyun is really great at portraying the right emotions for each song that he performs and this is no different. This cover is sure to make MOAs swoon.

6.) SEVENTEEN’s Seungkwan - Darl+ing

We all know that SEVENTEEN’s Seungkwan is known for his variety show skills and his powerful vocals. But his rendition of “Darl+ing” (originally performed by SEVENTEEN) really highlights his soft and honey-like vocals, something that all Carats are sure to love. A perfect pick-me-up song to jam out to!

5.) Stray Kids’s Seungmin - My Sea

Stray Kids’s Seungmin singing an IU ballad, and “My Sea” at that, is something we didn’t know we needed. His voice is absolutely perfect for ballads and you’ll fall in love with his voice after the first line.

If you want more Seungmin covering IU songs, make sure to also check out his cover of “Love Poem” on Kingdom, with the rest of the Mayfly Vocal Team consisting of BTOB’s Eunkwang and ATEEZ’s Jongho.

4.) ENHYPEN’s Heeseung - Camping Everywhere

While ENHYPEN’s Heeseung’s cover of “Sofa” (originally performed by Crush) is also amazing (please also check it out), we feel as though this type of R&B vibe song suits him the best. We hope with Heeseung’s specialty in this genre, we get to see more R&B style songs from ENHYPEN!

3.) NCT’s Xiaojun - Ashes

We are so happy that NCT’s Xiaojun performed this song because this is our favorite performance from him by far. His vocal skills shine so brightly in this ballad and the way he conveys the disheartening emotions of the song is *chef’s kiss*. From the perfectly balanced falsettos to the controlled low notes, his is definitely a performance that you don't want to miss.

2.) ATEEZ’s Jongho - Don’t Go Today

This cover of “Don’t Go Today” (originally performed by HWAN HEE) by ATEEZ’s Jongho literally gave us chills on the first listen. We all know that Jongho’s vocals are top-tier, but this song highlights his vocal talents so well.

1.) LE SSERAFIM’s Chaewon - Bambi

We promise you haven’t lived until you heard LE SSERAFIM Chaewon’s cover of “Bambi”, originally performed by BAEKHYUN of EXO. Her vocals are definitely underrated in this industry and we are so glad that "Lee Mujin Service" let her show her fullest vocal potential. Definitely our favorite cover in this entire show, by far. It’s a difficult song to sing with all of the runs within the 3:33 min track, but Chaewon covers the song flawlessly and makes it sound so easy to sing.

Her cover of “Polaroid Love” (originally performed by ENHYPEN, also under HYBE Labels) with Lee Mujin following this amazing “Bambi” cover is also a cute song to end off your "Lee Mujin Service" binging marathon! You can hear more of Chaewon’s sweet vocals in LE SSERAFIM’s debut album, FEARLESS.
