Take a Walk along BTS V Mural Street in Daegu: A Perfect Purple Art

The chosen location of this mural street is quite significant, in front of Daesung Elementary School in Daegu, the alma mater of V from BTS. It is in Seogu, the western part of Daegu, near Dalseong Park and Seomun Market.

"Borahae," or I purple you, is a phrase that doesn't simply mean I love you. It means I'll love you til the end of days. However, in this mural, fans have turned the message back to V. "Taehyung, we purple you." or "Taehyung, we love you." has been translated into over twenty languages at the top of the mural.

The message "Our pride Kim Taehyung, we purple you" is repeated several times along the top of the mural. Another message, in Korean, is displayed along this message. It reads "어제보다 더 내일보다 덜 사랑합니다" which means I love you more than yesterday and less than tomorrow. Here, it is clear to see the love shared between the artist and fans.

The color purple is a significant feature of the mural and is seen throughout the mural. There is purple trim at the top and bottom of the mural with a cluster of purple V's at the end of the mural.

The mural features a recreation of Starry Night, a famous painting by artist Vincent Van Gogh. Van Gogh is known as one of V’s favorite artists. The addition of Starry Night is also unique because it is a mixed-media piece.

The top portion is simply painted onto the rocky surface of the wall. However, the bottom portion is a tile mosaic. This tile mosaic continues throughout the rest of the mural as the background.

There is a row of pictures on the mural of 11 pictures of the self-composed and solo works BTS V completed over the years. The artworks include Singularity, from the BTS album Love Yourself: Tear, Sweet Night, featured on the Original Soundtrack for Itaewon Class, and Inner Child, from the BTS album Map of the Soul: 7.
