Monsta X Shows Versatility in Music in Their Mini Album Reason

Monsta X is back! With the new year upon us, Monsta X's fans, monbebes, are rejoicing with the release of new music from Monsta X. With a six-song album to dive into, get all the info you need to enjoy Monsta X's new mini album Reason. 

Monsta X's mini album Reason is releasing January 9, 2023.

There are six songs on Monsta X's mini album Reason. 

Monsta X's mini album Reason was released with a new music video for the first single on the album, Beautiful Liar. Monbebe everywhere will drool over the grungey red leather outfits each member is wearing at the start of the video. You can even catch Hyungwon on a horse! Get lost in the rock melody as the lyrics take you on a journey of being crazy in love with someone despite them telling you a lie that destroyed you. 

Daydream is the second song on the album and takes on more of an r&b feel with a hip-hop beat. It almost sounds like a lullaby as it whisks you into a storyline about someone who doesn't want to be woken up from their daydream where they can still see themselves with the person who left them.  

The third song on the album is entitled 춤사위, which means "dance moves," while the English title of the song is Crescendo. This song starts off with the soft plucking sound that is characteristic of traditional Korean musical instruments, and it quickly evolves into a vibey dance track with lyrics that literally encourage you to dance.  

The fourth song on the album is LONE RANGER. This song has a more mellow vibe but still provides an air of excitement as the lyrics entice you to go home with a "lone ranger" for a night of burning desire. 

The fifth song on the album is Deny. The melody takes on a feel-good, easy listening to r&b vibe with smooth vocals overlaying the track. The lyrics tell the story of having a one-sided relationship and not being able to take their eyes off the one they love despite the lack of reciprocating feelings. 

The last song on the album is 괜찮아 which translates to It's Alright. This track gives off an airy, motivational vibe that anyone can listen to when they just need to hear that everything is going to be alright.

Monsta X is a six-member k-pop group comprised of Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Joohoney, and I.M. Former member Wonho, left the group in October 2019. They debuted in May 2015 after being created through the music survival show NO.MERCY. Member Shownu is currently serving his mandatory military enlistment as of July 2021.
