SHINee’s Back: Minho Releases His First Mini Album – ‘CHASE’

SHINee’s Minho has just made his official solo debut with his first mini album, ‘CHASE.’ Minho debuted just under 15 years ago in SM’s iconic idol group SHINee and has been successful in his music and acting careers ever since.

Having starred in an array of kdramas alongside other idols and actors such as BTS’ V, Park Seo-joon, Kim Go-eun, and Chae Soo-bin, Minho is no stranger to the entertainment industry and continues to be one of the most popular idol-turned-actors in kpop.

The ‘CHASE’ album consists of six tracks, one of which was released in December of last year, and comes after two Japanese-language singles, both of which were released this past August.

SHINee members Taemin, Key, Onew, and the late Jonghyun have all released their solo albums, making Minho the last member of SHINee to do so. Get their albums here!

The MV was also very well done and was directed by Minho himself, which is super impressive!

The official music video for the title track ‘Chase’ was released on December 12th, 2022, just three days after Minho’s birthday, and has already garnered over 3.5 million views, making it the perfect belated birthday gift from Shawols.

This song features rapper GEMINI and has an r&b vibe that perfectly suits Minho's vocal style, which is why it's my favorite song from the 'CHASE' album.

The track has a way of drawing you in with the lyrics' flow and the song's rhythm, making it a standout b-side off of the album.

I’d love to see a performance or MV for this track, as it offers us a taste of Minho’s deep vocals, and I feel he could do a lot with this song performance-wise!

This track makes you feel like you're gliding through water with its smooth instrumentals and calming lyrics and vocals, and the start of the song sounds like you're bouncing back and forth, which is super cool.

'Waterfall' follows the theme of falling for someone, hence the song's name, and symbolizes diving deeper into a relationship with someone.

Minho's and LIM KIM's vocals complement each other's beautifully, making this the perfect chill song for a late-night drive!

This track is one of the more sentimental-sounding songs on the album and showcases both Minho’s rap and vocal abilities.

‘Choice’ is about following your path and trusting your choices, making it a very inspirational and safe place type of song!

The last track on the 'CHASE' album closes it off on a sophisticated and smooth note with 'Heartbreak.'

This song was released before the other songs on the 'CHASE' album as a single last December and luckily made its way onto Minho's first mini album.

This song's music video and performance are top-tier and perfectly tie into the album's theme, so you should check them out above!
